Are you terrified by having to speak in public? Do you want to be a truly dynamic speaker? Yes? Then congratulations, you've come to the right place...
Hello. I'm Dr Jeannette Kavanagh. I produced this downloadable program Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking: Presenting Your Best so that you can let the dynamic and confident speaker in you emerge. If nervousness and fear is a problem, you can conquer your public speaking fear in the privacy of your own home. For over twenty years, I've been a public speaking coach. I've also designed and run public speaking skills seminars. One of my other programs, the best selling Calming Words is a self-help kit that provides ALL the proven ways to eliminate fear, anxiety, panic and phobias from your life. I developed this program because I've helped so many highly successful and confident people to overcome their great fear of public speaking. I've also met other people who are nervous or even terrified about public speaking because they don't have to do it very often. Consequently, they've never reached a stage of feeling comfortable about their ability to win over an audience. Even when that audience is made up of their seven colleagues at the staff meeting.
Does the mere thought of public speaking - even to a small group - make your pulse race, your mouth go dry, your voice sound quivery, and your palms go clammy? Then welcome, bien venue, fáilte. You've found your solution....
The Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking: Presenting Your Best program is guaranteed to conquer your fear and replace it with public presentation competence and confidence. It will take you from your feelings of anxiety, fear and panic about speaking in public to a calm confidence.
The program focuses on your fear of public speaking. All of the strategies are equally applicable to any event in which you're presenting - singing, playing a musical instrument, juggling, fire throwing, acting in a play. This program will transform your performance anxiety into a positive confidence that you can take into every sphere of your life.
Life is one long series of presentations Public speaking is part of our lives in so many ways. At some stage you'll have to make a speech. Most of you already know that the mere thought of that makes you afraid and anxious.
What are your reasons for wanting to conquer your fear of speaking in public? Do you just want to be able to:
- Make an announcement over the PA system at work without worrying about how nervous you always seem to sound?
- Feel relaxed and comfortable telling a joke or a story at the local pub/wine bar, even in front of strangers?
- Feel relaxed making a short presentation at your child's school, or at work?
- Feel that you can make a wonderful speech and propose a great Toast at your only daughter's wedding, without spending months ahead feeling terrified?
- Replace your anxiety with confidence and calm and take your new-found confidence into the rest of your life?
In most of those scenarios you may only have had to speak to a few people, most of whom were family, friends or work colleagues. It's still true that all of those occasions have caused millions of people a great deal of anxiety, fear and even dread.
As well as proven strategies to overcome your fear, my Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking: Presenting Your Best e-program provides a how-to blueprint to guide you in writing the most common speeches you'll have to deliver. Just having a framework on which to base your father-of-the-Bride speech is worth the cost of the program!!
Rehearsed or not, what is the greatest fear for human beings?
Among all our fears, the greatest is our fear of speaking in public...
Many comedians have made the joke that... "This means that most people would rather be in the coffin than be required to deliver the eulogy"
Put like that, it's a strange fact, but true.
However if you're one of the millions of people who go weak at the knees, dry in the throat, quavering in the voice when asked to do public speaking or to make a public presentation, it's not so funny.
Perhaps your reason for wanting to overcome your fear of public speaking is more related to your work and to your career. Think about the skills you wished you had, the last time you went for a raise in salary, or a promotion.
Do you want to be able to:
- Learn to be calm about the public speaking which is already a big - but fear-filled - part of your working life?
- Perform your best at an interview for that promotion you really want?
- Represent your business in the most confident and compelling way possible?
- Reach your true potential in your chosen career, instead of staying in the background due to your nervousness about speaking up?
- Raise the profile of the not-for-profit organisations you support and even be part of the PR team that raises funds through public speaking and other presentations about the vital work the organisation does?
- Present the keynote address at a formal event including a graduation, an academic conference or an international seminar with a feeling of confidence that matches your status?
- Convince people to vote for you at the next local, state or federal elections?
Profile of people who are anxious or panicky about public speaking.
You probably did know that fear of public speaking is our number one fear. Maybe you don't know this. People who are beset with the troubling thoughts and feelings that make public speaking a nightmare usually have the following characteristics. You're likely to be:
- Above average in intelligence . As you'll learn in my program you can use that intelligence to keep your anxiety going. Or...you can use it to eliminate its negative impact on your life.
- Creative in all aspects of your life. That includes the way you raise your children; speak to your neighbours; cook a meal; or analyse what you see on the evening news. You may be following a career in art, design, writing - including journalism, music, and acting. Your creativity may also have manifested in engineering, architecture, Law and teaching. And that's by no means the end of the list.
- Highly sensitive to your surroundings , including the people in your life. That makes you a caring person if you apply that sensitivity positively. It can make you a hypochondriac if you focus your sensitivity inwards.
- Someone who takes time with details . That means that you'll follow through on my program and succeed as everyone else has done. It can make you a bit of a perfectionist and although you're close to it, no one is perfect.
- A loyal, loving and forgiving friend . Often because you've had to rely on friends and family to help you through some of your anxious moments, you appreciate your friends more than most. I've worked with people to help them through their anxiety issues and I've never found any of those clients to be mean-spirited or self-serving. Can't say the same about all my clients.
No. I'm not trying to suggest that anxiety is something we should all try to cultivate. I simply need you to know, in case you don't, that having anxiety about anything, including public speaking does not mean that you're a less interesting, exciting, and special person.
Nor do you have a rare illness or disorder. You are also very well.
The path to freedom from fear.
Whatever your reason for wanting to conquer your fear of public speaking and making presentations in public , I guarantee that within six weeks, you'll free yourself from that fear forever. My program presented as an e-book and an MP3 file, and it will have you feeling totally calm and confident whether you're speaking to small groups or to large audiences. After reading Conquer Your Fear of Public Speaking: Presenting Your Best and implementing the step-by-step exercises, you'll soon be actually looking forward to public speaking.
Even if you look no further, please remember two things from this website:
- Public speaking doesn't have to be a source of fear and anxiety.
- Public speaking is a skill and a skill that is easy to learn.
Remember how nervous you used to be driving a car. Until you learned how to drive. Until you had the opportunity to practice your newly acquired driving skills.
Over the past two decades, I've worked with thousands of people in public speaking seminars. I've watched their skills develop and their confidence grow. That confidence, based on genuine competence, goes a long way to eliminating a natural level of "butterflies in the tummy".
My program is about conquering your fear of public speaking.
I do know that your increased competence and your increased confidence alone won't eliminate all your fears - that's why I produced this program.
